Marley Eternit Launches New Clay Colour
10-04-2008
Following research among housebuilders and architects, which showed that colour range was the most important factor for architects and housebuilders when choosing a clay tile, Marley Eternit has launched Vintage Brown, the 24th colour in its clay plain tile range.
This addition to the Acme Single Camber range is manufactured from the highest quality Etruria Marl and uses the most modern firing techniques to give a contemporary colour range.
The range is now available in seven colours: Heather Sandfaced, Red Smooth, Red Sandfaced, Grey Sandfaced, Century, Farmhouse Brown Sandfaced and the new Vintage Brown.
Clay is becoming a much more affordable option, thanks to investment in manufacturing processes and technological developments, which means it is possible to produce authentic clay plain tiles more efficiently. This is opening up opportunities for a wider market, particularly in commercial buildings, such as schools and hospitals.
Diana Bullock, clay campaign manager, Marley Eternit, comments: “Our research shows that architects and housebuilders want to closely match colours to surrounding properties. Expanding our clay colour range is another way that Marley Eternit can help specifiers to keep in line with PPS3 guidelines.
“We are constantly developing new products and colours that will meet market trends and demands.
Vintage Brown has been launched to broaden and complement our well-established clay plain tile range and highlight our commitment to the clay market.”
Marley Eternit, known for its environmental innovations, achieves an independently assessed A rating for its clay plain roof tiles in the BREs Green Guide to Specification, enabling specifiers to obtain environmental credits for buildings under the BREEAM and Eco Homes schemes.
