“Installers are looking for multi-purpose new products that are more effective than traditional dry-lining/drywall methods and take less time on site to fit. When we were developing Hydropanel, which is made from fibre cement, we were responding to the need for a building board that could offer plumbing installers high levels of moisture resistance. This was because the feedback we were getting was that applying a secondary moisture resistant layer to traditional dry-lining/drywall boards was losing them a large amount of time, both in application and curing times.
Fibre cement overcomes these issues because it offers water resistance, which means that if fitted in accordance with application guidelines it can help installers create a fast fit-out in bathrooms and kitchens. For installers that also require fire resistant and acoustic properties, Hydropanel building boards provide the ideal solution compared to traditional plasterboard.
Being lightweight, fibre cement boards are easy to handle and therefore a practical solution for projects with restricted access and can be used on floors, walls and ceilings.
The properties of fibre cement building boards such as Hydropanel enable installers to use them in many diverse applications including domestic bathrooms and wet rooms along with areas requiring acoustic and fire resistant performances. Fibre cement boards also offer high levels of impact resistance. They are used widely in domestic homes, hospitals, schools and offices.”
