A New Beginning for Matcon USA

May 2014 was a historic month for Matcon’s presence in North America with the opening of our new facility in Elmhurst, Illinois. We were thrilled to welcome more than fifty customers into our brand new test plant during Open House events held in early May. These events were held in parallel to the 2014 International Powder & Bulk Solids Exhibition, commonly known as The Powder Show. The Powder Show provided a great platform to promote the benefits of separating process steps via a Matcon IBC System to achieve agile and adaptable powder processing. This time we were exhibiting together with Quadro and Fitzpatrick (fellow Material Processing Technologies (MPT) companies in the IDEX group), which gave show attendees the ability to see a unique group of processing technologies at a single booth. It was great to welcome familiar faces and have the chance to network with industry players. The well attended Open House events featured live Matcon equipment demonstrations, prompting insightful application discussions about Matcon’s Lean approach to powder production. With many of Matcon’s key customers located in the Midwest, the Chicago-area location provides easy access to our facility. Dan Ruble, VP of Sales for Matcon, summarized the week by saying: “With the new location and integration into a strong company like IDEX, we are, in some ways, reintroducing Matcon to the North American market. These recent events were a great launching pad for that and we look forward to maximizing our customer’s experience with the new facility.
