Seaside Parking Machines Took Storm Battering

Seaside parking machines which took a battering in the winter’s storms are being replaced. Gwynedd Council is installing new Metric Elite machines in Barmouth and Criccieth which took the brunt of severe weather in North Wales. The Aura machines were damaged beyond repair. A dozen new Elites, six for each seaside, are replacing the Auras and are either in the process of installation or delivery from Metric’s factory in Swindon. Upon completion in the ground they will be fully networked. Further down the coast in Aberystwyth the seafront also took its fair share of damage from mother nature. On this occasion the Metric machines and special compacting litterbins managed to weather the storm and remain in place whilst all around them suffered storm damage.
