The new Michell S8000 RS is a high-precision, low dew-point hygrometer designed to meet the demands of humidity calibration laboratories and industrial applications. Michell’s engineers have used the latest developments in chilled mirror technology to achieve reliable, repeatable measurements of low frost points down to -90 °C, with an accuracy of ±0.1 °C, without the need for additional cooling.
Based on the design of our flagship S8000 -100 high precision chilled mirror hygrometer, at the heart of the new instrument is a unique advanced optics system, which detects minute changes in moisture condensed on the mirror surface. This ensures high sensitivity and fast response to changes in frost point, even at low levels of humidity, where measurements are the most challenging. The new S8000 RS achieves ±0.05 °Cdp stability at -90 °Cfp with a reproducibility of ±0.05 °Cfp at -90 °Cfp and ±0.025 °Cfp at -80 °Cfp.
There is no need for operators to monitor the instrument continuously as it offers complete automation and remote monitoring via software. The wide range of communication protocols includes Modbus RTU over USB, RS232, RS485, Modbus TCP over ethernet. Datalogging to SD card and user-configurable analog outputs are also available.
Typical applications for the S8000 RS are as a reference hygrometer in humidity calibration facilities, in high purity gas manufacture, in dry gas supply for the semiconductor industry, in metallurgical processes as well as clean/dry room monitoring.
