Caddick Construction has been appointed to deliver a new £11.4m Manchester social housing scheme, which will be energy-efficient and create work opportunities
The Guinness Partnership has appointed Caddick Construction’s North West team to deliver the new eight-storey social housing scheme on Kiwi Street in Salford.
The Manchester social housing scheme will comprise of 47 one-bedroomed and 16 two-bedroomed energy-efficient homes, with car and cycle parking included where the former tower block was recently demolished.
As well as remediation, external works, service infrastructure, roads and drainage, Caddick Construction will create a communal garden as part of the landscaping proposals.
The social housing scheme will replace a former 1960’s tower block
Peter Carroll, project manager at Caddick Construction, commented: “We are looking forward to using the team’s extensive experience to deliver this energy efficient apartment scheme at Kiwi Street.
“This exciting project will replace a former 1960s tower block with a far more sustainable, attractive and high-quality development.”
Caddick Construction will also create jobs, work placements and training and development opportunities though apprenticeships and traineeships as part of its commitment to the local economy.
The scheme will provide much needed social housing

The Manchester social housing scheme, designed by Arcus Consulting LLP is set to complete in early 2024.
