Knowledge and technology transfer for the development of a novel manufacturing process for the reliable production of round bottom bags made from three-ply aluminum composite films for PUR hotmelt adhesives.
In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWS, Halle, NITTEL Halle GmbH carries out a research project to develop a new manufacturing process.
This research project is financially supported by the European Structural and Investment Fund.
The content of this project is the development of a novel manufacturing process for this product class with the aim of a far beyond the current state of the art product improvement in terms of the barrier effect against water vapor while avoiding known kink breaks. The aim is to achieve a greatly improved storage of PUR hotmelt adhesives and to open up the possibility of developing markets with high demands on the barrier effect against water vapor.
The project began on March 1, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2018. The findings resulting from this research project will be transferred to a new, automatic round bottom sacking machine, which will be invested in 2018.
