Distributed Nationwide through Noble Abrasives Ltd; The Mirka Abralon Abrasives range offers customers a unique multifunctional patented sanding material developed for a flexible approach to sanding both smooth and profiled surfaces… Due to its cushioned backing pad design, Abralon Abrasive Pads and Sheets create a smooth sanding pattern on angled surfaces and edges, whilst simultaneously minimising the risk of uneven marks on the finished surface making this abrasive material ideally suited to those working in Car Restoration / Automotive, Marine, woodworking and stone working industries; where accepting anything other than ‘perfectly smooth’ isn’t an option. The flexible weave allows water and air to pass freely over the pad, making the product suitable for both wet and dry sanding, either on a machine or by hand where Abralon was also developed for the finishing and pre-polishing of gelcoat, sheet moulding compound (SMC), glass reinforced plastic (GRP), lacquers and so on. Supplied by Noble Abrasives in Finer and Coarser grits; The Abralon range comes recommended by Mirka Abrasives for the surface preparation of composite body parts and fine sanding of body surfaces before a primers and/or top lacquer or varnish is applied. Coarse (180, 360) Abralon Grits would be ideal for the smoothing down of primers and bottom lacquers or the preparation of a surface between blending, thereafter Abralon is the professionals choice for the restoring of pot marked surfaces and the preparation of any top coats before polishing. Mirka Abralon is a Silicon Carbide Grain which is bonded with a customised Mirka Resin to a Knitted fabric on a foam backed pad or sheet, a special ABRALON coating is applied to the product resulting in a Grey colour to the pads/sheets. Abralon Grit Range begins at 180, 360, 500, 600, 1000, 2000 and finally ends with a 4000 Grit product for highly refined smoothing and finishing with an even surface either by machine or hand.
