Saying Goodbye to 2021
Everyone feels differently about the New Year; some of us find it easy to move on from the trials and tribulations of the previous year, whilst others find it more difficult. Some of us want to get New Years Eve over and done with, whilst others cherish every moment. The New Year can be a deeply sensitive and personal time for many of us - as we say hello to another year of life we equally must say goodbye to the year we have experienced.
Personally, 2021 has been a very difficult year for me, like it has for billions of others all over the world. Because of this, I wanted to take some time to share with you some of the rituals I will be utilising in order to help me let go from the hurt of 2021 and welcome 2022 with a fresh and open mind. Whatever you decide to do this New Year, I hope you find peace and love throughout 2022.
All my love,

Cleansing your mind and soul
What you will need:
Journal of paper to write on and pen
Matches or lighter
Bowl, cauldron, can or fireplace in which paper can be burned
Setting
Find a safe, clean, calm space in your home or wherever you may be for New Year’s Eve.
Practice
1. Spend ten to fifteen minutes writing about what happened in 2021 in a broader sense. Include political, social and environmental elements that impacted you this past year and why. What did you learn about yourself in relation to these events?
2. Spend ten to fifteen minutes writing in more detail about what happened personally in 2021. What were the highlights? The low points? What did you learn about yourself? What did you learn about life? What did you learn about your own calling, truth or purpose?
3. Breathe deeply in and out. Breathe into your belly, hold for three seconds and then release, continue till you feel relaxed. Ask yourself what do i need to let go of? This can be anything, from habits, thoughts and/or behaviours to relationships, traumas and emotions. If your answer is “no, I’m not ready to let this go,” I invite you to be generous, compassionate and accepting of that answer. Forcing yourself to be where you are not, won’t get you where you want to go any quicker, but being open to change will welcome the healing process.
4. When you’re ready, begin to write down these answers a on a piece of paper that you can burn. Read these aloud to yourself and then burn the paper in a safe way.
5. If you want, you can reinforce this ritual by saying to yourself something like "I welcome this healing" or "I am ready to move forward and prosper in 2022".
