This AODD is manufactured with an electro polished stainless steel 316 pump body and installed with FDA approved PTFE diaphragms. Therefore, all parts that come into contact with the pumped fluid are of food grade standard. The pump connections can be supplied with different configurations including; Tri clamp, DIN or NPT. This AODD has all the design benefits of a standard diaphragm pump but built with food grade materials. This FDA approved positive displacement pump can self-prime, dry run, handle fluids with viscosities up to 20000cp and has a solids passage up to 4mm; this allows it to be used for a wide range of applications within the food, beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. The gentle pumping action also means it is excellent for handling shear sensitive fluids. This diaphragm pump is Atex zone 2 as standard meaning it is suitable for operation in non-safe potentially flammable environments. As an option, this pump can come in an Atex zone 1 version if required. This AOD pump is also able to run in high humidity environments which may cause issues for other pumps fitted with electric motors. The Foodboxer 50 AODD pump can run dry for long periods and is capable of self-priming up to 4m vertically. The flow rates from this food grade diaphragm pump can be varied very easily by altering the air pressure entering the motor; this versatility allows the operator the ability to dispense very precise flow rates if required. The Foodboxer 50 AODD pump can achieve varying flow rates up to 50L/min. The patented technology in the air motor ensures that the pump will not stall if there is a significant drop in air pressure entering the motor.
