Our bespoke sub-compact booster set utilises submersible pumps that are submerged in the water for quiet operation and space saving. Sometimes referred to as Scuba tanks, these sets can be installed with one, two or three pumps, depending on requirements.
WRAS approved AF and AG CAT 4 or AB CAT 5 tanks are supplied. Our smaller models can fit through a standard sized door, making it simple to replace existing installed booster sets. All our one-piece and two-piece tanks are made with glass reinforced polyester and comply with BS 13280:2001 standards. Tank sizes range from 184 litres up to 2000 litres and are installed with a raised ball valve chamber.
Sub-compact booster sets compensate for reductions in system pressure, they observe and increase demand when required and then maintain a constant pressure. Example installations include; domestic properties, commercial buildings, hotels, hostels, agriculture, district heating, nursing homes, laboratories, leisure parks and marine vessels.
The submersible pumps are constructed from stainless steel and are fully WRAS approved. The system can be manufactured with various optional components, including; press control, pressure vessel and inverter drive.
The optional variable speed drive allows for full control of flow rate and pressure. It varies the motor speed depending on system requirements at any given time, while still maintaining a constant system pressure. By reducing or increasing the motor speed to match the system requirements, significant power and cost can be saved. This is since the pump only produces the required flow rate and pressure at that point in time, rather than constantly running at full capacity.
The frequency drive is mounted on the discharge pipework and comes complete with LCD display to provide the operator with information on the system parameters. The pumps can be operated in duty, assist or standby modes, they are programmed to run in staged cascade mode as pressure and flow rate demands increase.
Details on the inverter drive are below:
•Temperature range of 0 - 60°C•Protection features, including; dry run protection, over current protection and over temperature protection•Changeover of duty pump automatically•Facility to wire a low-level float switch•Volt free contacts to allow for remote alarm
