Pipeline pumps are often used at tank farms, and refineries as a means for transporting crude oils such as Kerosene, Petrol, and Diesel. The use of pipelines to transport fuel provides many benefits over road haulage including helping relieve port congestion, consuming less energy during transfer as the process is far more efficient, and as the system is fully contained, is environmentally safer. Pipeline pumps must be efficient, provide large flows at relatively low pressure, be designed for running continuously and be quick and easy to maintain.
