19 Piece Metabo Drill Set - HSS-Co
The strongest drill bits available made from a cobalt alloy, high-grade, high speed steel. These drill bits are precision-ground, cylindrical type N, reinforced core thickness with crosswise grinding at 135 according with DIN 1412 C. The finish on these drill bits is slightly bronze to look at, this makes identification quick and easy compared to the HSS-R and HSS-G bits.
The length of life provided by HSS-Co drill bits is far superior compared to the cheaper bits but this doesn't mean that you should automatically buy these drill bits looking for the best value. Cobalt is strong but brittle and is not likely to survive in a hand drill.
Cobalt drills should be used on hard to machine materials such as heat resistant steels, corrosion resistant steels and acid resistant steels. They will also be great for use on vanadium steel and welded seams. The tensile strength is up to 1100 N/mm²
