Auto Welding Helmet - The CWS GR8 welding helmet in black and silver carbon style print is a high spec helmet designed to give you the best possible value for money for those looking for a good quality budget helmet.
At Noz-Alls we use these helmets and our other CWS helmets for testing machines and demos and have complete confidence that you will not have to worry about the quality. As such the ADF lens comes complete with replaceable batteries and a 2 year warranty period!
This helmet spec if excellent compared to some of the cheap things you see on eBay getting shipped half way around the world. They may look the same but please look past the shape of the helmet and check the spec of the lens! Remember, we list the full specification as we are proud of the product quality, if you are comparing to another mask and it doesn't mention something it is probably because the supplier wants to hide it.
The clear, large viewing area of 98x43mm makes life easy when looking at what you are doing between welds and just before welding. If you need to grind then this helmet also has a grinding function which keeps the helmet at a constant shade 4, essentially two helmets for the price of one.
Optical class is one that many others glance over or 'forget' to mention. This helmet has a 1/1/1/3 rating which can be explained in the following way.
A/B/C/D
A. The optical quality of the ADF. The lowest possible number is 1 and the lower the number the better.
B. Light diffusion class. This is the amount of glare transmitted - the lower the number the better.
C. Variations in luminous transmittance. Every lens will have a slightly lighter state in the corners of the lens. The lower the number the smaller the shade change area while welding.
D. Optional. Angle dependence of luminous transmittance class. This class is related to how much of a shade change occurs when looking at the arc at an angle. The lower the better.
The reaction time of this helmet from the initial arc is quicker than many. Lots you see have a slow rate of 1/10,000 of a second. Our helmet is 2.5 times quicker, just 1/25,000 of a second! Add into this the ADF (Auto Darkening Filter) unit comes with a 2 year warranty and has an auto-off circuit to prolong the life of the battery it is certainly not to be sniffed at.
