This flow meter (or flowmeter if you prefer that version) has a dual reading tube on it which is designed to show the flow of CO² and Argon. If you are looking to precisely set your shielding gas flow rate or indeed save gas then this is the ideal addition to add to the outlet of your regulator.
Given that most regulators supplied with welding machines are two gague regs you will find that by adding a flow tube you will save money as the 'flow gauge' is not very accurate so can easily be flowing more than you think and essentially cost you money. Once the regulator is set to match the flowmeters calibrated pressure there is nothing more accurate than this 'ball in a tube', of course it is a little more complex that it sounds.
Once connected to the regulator you can adjust the flow by way of a needle valve located on the solid brass body.
