G1/4 BSP Hose Check Valve - For 3.0mm Hoses
Available in both left and right hand.
Not all hose check valves are the same, and as a component in your gas equipment system, they are very easily overlooked.
Our HCV are all manufactured to our own design which helps ensure that our HCV provide a good flow (less pressure drop) plus work correctly, which we believe is very important for both your safety and that of those around you.
You see, a hose check valve is your first line of defense against back feeding of gases thereby preventing the mixing of oxygen and acetylene or oxygen and propane forming an explosive mixture which can have extraordinary results should the mixed gas be ignited.
One of the function tests that has to be undertaken for a HCV is the testing of the one way valve at very low pressures from 6mbar increasing to just over 1psig (30mbar) under this test we have established that many of our competitors HCV leak. At pressures above 2psig the competitors HCV did function and prevent back flow.
The leakage is most likely to occur at low differential pressures hence the necessity to test at low reverse flow pressures from 6mbar through to 30 mbar.
Maximum working pressure for most "welding" hoses is 20bar therefore the working pressure for our HCV is also 20 bar - due to this fact the HCV had to be Hydrostatically tested to 200 bar (10 times higher than the maximum working pressure). The result of which - there was no back flow leak and the integrity of the HCV was maintained.
So for a top quality hose check valve you can't get much better than buying from Noz-Alls.
Noz-Alls HCV complies & meets BS EN 730-2 plus we 100% test for the low back pressure (6 mbar - 30mbar) here in the UK.
Of the HCV we tested the Noz-Alls HCV provided the highest flow rate / least pressure drop which means less operating problems and easier working characteristics.
As a rather shocking point of interest our smallest Noz-Alls HCV with G1/4 torch connection and 6,3mm inlet nipple provided a higher flow when compared to a much larger and commonly available G3/8 x 10mm (nipple) HCV often fitted to ready made hoses (This HCV doesn't comply with BS EN 730-2).
Noz-Alls G3/8 x 10mm HCV flow = 658 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Noz-Alls G3/8 x 10mm HCV flow = 1360 L/min at 8 bar inlet pressure
Noz-Alls G3/8 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 563 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Noz-Alls G3/8 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 1050 L/min at 8 bar inlet pressure
Competitor A G3/8 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 454 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Competitor B G3/8 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 265 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Competitor B G3/8 x 10 mm HCV flow = 395 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Noz-Alls G1/4 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 397 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Competitor B G1/4 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 227 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
Competitor C G1/4 x 6,3 mm HCV flow = 232 L/min at 4 bar inlet pressure
As the inlet pressure increases the flow gap widens.
