Welding & Brazing Nozzles - Noz-Alls Quality The Best.
Single point flame welding nozzle for use with oxy/acetylene. Only oxy / acetylene is able to fusion weld mild steels, stainless steels and aluminium (with correct rods and flux) plus many other materials. Welding nozzle flame cone shape and size is vitally important for all the smaller size nozzles (#1 to #13) which why at
Noz-Alls we check the orifice size of every nozzle to be sure when you order a particular size you may be confident of receiving the exact size you require.
Nozzle size for every job.
Full range of sizes available #1, #2, #3, #5, #7, #10, #13, #18, #25, #35, #45, #55, #70, & #90
Do not confuse our Type 3 / Type 5 Swaged welding nozzles with those of a similar shape or name, our nozzles have been manufactured to our own engineering drawings plus have been made from thick walled engineering copper seamless drawn tube with a correctly swaged and sized welding orifice along with a correctly threaded nozzle plus a correctly machined seat so the nozzle does not leak even when blocked with a back pressure of 3 bar. The nozzle size indicates the consumption of acetylene in cubic feet per hour.
Setting a nozzle correctly
The correct characteristics of the welding cone are vital to achieving a good weld with proper penetration. The reason that there are so many sizes is to ensure you have the flame cone to needed for the material being joined in the relative weld position for the application. Generally a given welding nozzle flame size should not be turned up above its "normal" flame setting - Note: the normal design flame cone size is achieved when just the acetylene is ignited - flowing at the correct operating pressure - the yellow acetylene flame is increased in flow until no soot is visible from the tips of the yellow acetylene flame, at that point the oxygen is introduced and the neutral flame set (very slight haze just above the tip of the welding cone). Each nozzle size, once set to the normal flame cone setting may be reduced by 50% (cone height) should less heat or less cone force be required. When more heat is required then the next larger nozzle should be chosen. Do not be tempted to turn up a nozzle as it generally makes welding much more difficult to achieve, go up a nozzle size and reduce if necessary.
Nozzle size and DA cylinder size
Up to a number 5 welding nozzle may be used on small portable acetylene cylinders, the nozzle size may be increased up to a number 13 when used on "J" size acetylene cylinders. HobbyWeld rent free Ultra acetylene cylinders may be used with all sizes up to a number 18. The largest nozzle which may be used on a full size industrial acetylene cylinder is a #35 after which you will need to couple acetylene cylinders together to be able to hold a stable neutral flame on sizes #45, #55, #70 & #90. Cold cylinders and winter temperatures will reduce the available flow, cylinders kept inside in a warm workshop should not be affected.Sizes available 1, 2, 3 & 5 see below for other sizes
Welding thickness mild steel - Size 1 - 0,9mm size 2 - 1,2mm size 3 - 2,0mm size 5 - 2,6mmMaterial thickness welding mild steel Size #7 - 3,2mm Size #10 - 4mm & Size #13 - 5mmMaterial thickness mild steel Size #18 - 6,5mm Size #25 - 8,2mm and Size #35 - 10mm.
The #35 welding nozzle is the largest which may be operated from a single large industrial acetylene cylinder.other sizes info:
Heavy Duty high flow Welding / heating Nozzles, sizes 45, 55, 70 & 90. These nozzles are all produced from large diameter thick section copper tube and are designed to fit the "heavy duty acetylene" mixer. Due to the high flow of acetylene these nozzles must only be used with 2 or 3 large cylinders of acetylene manifolded together per nozzle, this is to ensure the nozzles operate correctly and safely.
See the 3 way cylinder adaptor to couple cylinders together - cylinder interconnects also required.
