- Weld Bead Backing Strip - Ceramic

This ceramic weld backing strip has an eight millimeter curved groove with a central red line along its length to assist you to centre the backing strip in the middle of the weld root gap.  The ceramic backing strip is foil backed with adhesive to hold the strip in place.  Using weld backing strip allows you to weld from the accessable side of the joint whilst ensuring a proper weld root is formed ensuring full weld strength.  Often this method of achieving a good root run is much more cost effective than using purging gas such as Argon.
These ceramic backing strips are available in packs of 10 pcs which are 600mm long.
