Selfbuilder Jim Sendall started his construction adventure by picking up a valuable piece of land at an excellent auction price from under the noses of local developers. He then designed and drew the highly impressive house from scratch with a sure and confident style. The house he designed is built into a small quarryside so it is an earth sheltered house with grass roof - but yet at the front it still retains a sense of grandeur and style. This isnt a small house and Polarwall director Alan Wheeler thought Jim might have bitten off more than he could chew. "When I first saw our formwork being assembled over this large footprint" said Alan, "I knew I would have employed people to do this as the scale of the build would have faced me down like an overfull plate of food"
