Pryor Wins a Further Two Awards! Pryor is delighted to announce that at the Sheffield Business Awards Ceremony, held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre on Thursday 4th December 2014, Pryor Marking Technology won two more awards: The Wake Smith LLP Excellence in Manufacturing Award and the overall award for Outstanding Business of the Year. The Excellence in Manufacturing Award was presented to Pryor for demonstrating a modern, efficient and innovative approach to manufacturing; exhibiting best practice to build a sustainable operation by the development of new manufacturing techniques, new products, and capital investments; for having a track record for training and passing on skills to future generations; and the desire to promote the region as a centre for manufacturing excellence. Pryor has been recognised for continuous development of new technologies over the years due to heavy investment in design-to-order capabilities. Pryor pushes into new markets requiring new applications and has recently joined the NSA for Nuclear Manufacturing in order to train its workforce for developments within the nuclear industry. The company has invested heavily in new employees, bringing in new skills but also engages apprentices in all fields, takes on board work experience students, graduates and interns. Pryor also has employees studying towards HNC’s and NVQs, works closely with local universities, having run two master’s degree research projects, and currently has employees attending courses in law, exporting, sales and HR. The Outstanding Business of the Year Award was the overall award that all entrants into the Sheffield Business awards were put forward for. This exceptional award recognised Pryor’s ability to demonstrate outstanding leadership and vision, successful performance against business planning, forward planning for substantial growth and being an inspiration to other businesses. All winners from the Sheffield Business Awards will automatically be entered into the Sheffield City Region Awards, to be held in summer 2015, at which winners from each category of the Sheffield, Barnsley & Rotherham, Derbyshire and Doncaster Awards go head to head to be crowned the winner of winners.
