SPAM EMAILS
10-09-2014
There are various emails being received by internet users that appear to have originated from PW Maintenance.
Many thanks to those who have contacted us and forwarded the relevant emails to us.
We can confirm that our email has been “Spoofed” but our servers have NOT been compromised.
An currently unknown spammer has configured their system to send emails which appear to have come from PW Maintenance with random user names.
If the email contains an attachment, we suggest that you do NOT open the attachment and delete the message completely.
As the emails are being sent from an unknown and not any of our systems, we are at this time powerless to prevent these mails from being sent.
We will update this post should any new information become available.
Are You An Advanced User, Help Us To Help You
If you receive one of these emails and use Outlook, it would be really helpful if you could send us the email headers from the email.
Forwarding the email to us will not show us where this message originated and will not help, it will simply show you forwarded the email.
In Outlook, from your Inbox list (not the message itself), select the email then right click.
Select Message Options
Copy and paste the Email Headers section into a new mail and email it to us here.
This will show where the message originated and help us to try and resolve the issue.
Phil Hamer, PW Maintenance.
