The Surface Design Show London is the best place to find new, unique and innovative solutions for interior finishes, surfaces, materials and products.
Launched in 2005, the show based in Islington has become the place for Architects, Interior Fit-Out Specialists, Building Contractors, Property Developers, and Quantity Surveyors etc. to see, touch and learn about the latest products for their particular practice/trade.
The event is particularly useful for architects and interior designers to gain an understanding of how environmental considerations are impacting architecture and interior design.

As Kent, London and Brighton’s leading office design and Refurbishment Company, we felt we had to visit this inspirational exhibition.
Apart from expanding our range of products we can use within our projects, we aimed to discover what the commercial spaces of 2015/2016 are looking for in colour and texture.
With more than 130 exhibitors, it was a great chance to explore the latest trends in materials and finishes for the office, education and care home environment.
Ranging from flooring, wall coverings, lighting, glass and tiles we had already started to notice that the main theme of the year was the use of natural materials such as stone, metal and wood to be incorporated into the office.
This is because businesses are now looking to have a seamless transition between the interior and exterior of the building and using these materials can achieve this.

Another product that seems to be increasingly popular for open plan office spaces is the introduction of Acoustic panelling to your workspace.
Unlike traditional acoustic solutions in the past, where it was foam, there is now a vast range of solutions such as ceiling mounted sound baffles or acoustic shapes that are not only effective but can also double up as office decoration.
Remember if you have a noisy business this can be distracting for others!

What intrigued us most from our trip to Orgatec last year, was that when it came to furniture the predictions for 2015/2016 were for more colour and technology to be integrated into the office area.
It may seem that furniture and office finishes differ in style for the upcoming year but we know from our experience that they can work in contrast and create an amazing, quirky space that’s professional whilst still promoting your corporate brand.
We were truly inspired by the old age metallic style and shall discuss this within an upcoming blog in detail so watch this space.
Overall the Surface Design show was a great event to attend as it has provided us with new innovative products which are great if you’re looking for something unusual or even space-age for your office walls or flooring.
