New paint or new tanks?

All our hire customers know we offer a first class product, but with a hire business it is easy to keep old equipment, this might be good for the balance sheet, but without reinvesting in new equipment how does a company move forward. At the start of 2011 we took the decision to embark on a four year programme to change our entire hire fleet. With the ever increasing cost of fuel, we looked at our hire fleet, and took the decision to have tanks manufactured to sizes that minimise transportation costs. Our designs include 100,000 litre hire tanks, transported on a standard flat trailer. For year one (2011), we stepped up our normal replacement programme and invested £600,000. A further investment of £500,000 per year is planned over the next three years. Whilst our competitors continue to repaint their old tanks, some of which could be 30 years old, we are investing in the most up to date fleet of industrial storage tanks for hire in the UK.
