Developed by Photon Therapeutics, the PhotonUVC Vet is a world-first device designed to treat corneal infections in animals using UVC light technology. To support this innovation, a highly specialised user interface was required—one that could meet strict clinical, optical, and durability demands.


Supporting a New Approach to Veterinary Eye Treatment

Corneal infections such as keratitis are a major concern in veterinary medicine, often leading to pain or vision loss if not treated effectively. Traditional methods rely heavily on antibiotic drops, which require frequent application and can contribute to antimicrobial resistance.

The PhotonUVC Vet introduces a non-contact solution, using UVC light to deactivate harmful microorganisms in just seconds. The device also incorporates:

  • White light for general examination
  • Blue light combined with fluorescein dye to highlight corneal damage

This dual-light system required an interface that could precisely manage light transmission while maintaining hygiene and usability in a clinical setting.

Optimised Light Diffusion

To ensure accurate diagnostics, RH engineered grey diffused windows using digitally applied filters. This allowed:

Sub-Surface Digital Printing

Graphics were printed beneath the surface layer, protecting them from wear and chemical exposure. This ensures:

Secure Adhesion and Hygiene

A high-performance 3M industrial adhesive was precision-cut to match the device’s compact design. This created a fully sealed interface that:
