DURABLE LABELS TO STAND THE TEST OF TIME
25/02/2021
Labels are attached to almost everything, but what if you don?t want those labels to come off? Naturally, durable labels are the answer.
You will interact with labels every day. From batteries inside your electrical appliances to the list of ingredients on a bottle of wine. These are common label-based applications on a consumer level. While these labels may exhibit some minor elements of durability, they pale in comparison to real durable labels built to withstand and overcome extreme environments and applications on an industrial level. Enter, durable labelling.
Some businesses today still engrave, etch or print directly onto an item, or an attached metal plate. This is costly, inconvenient, labour-intensive and time-consuming. In the time it takes to produce and attach a single, metal engraved plate, you could produce a hundred durable, synthetic labels. With the advent of durable labelling and continued advances in technology such as unique metallised materials, adhesives and laminates, durable labels have repeatedly proven just as good and in most cases better than labelling methods of old.
Unique permanent adhesives ensure your label will adhere to the surface it?s designed for, while metallised materials and durable, clear laminates protecting high precision print ensure readability and integrity throughout the labels lifetime. This permanency can give businesses peace of mind the safety, information and integrity of their brand are safeguarded.

So what are the best uses for durable labelling?
Security is a common use for durable labels. A good example is when JCB, manufacturers of heavy industrial and agricultural vehicles, approached us after looking to replace the engraved metal plates attached to the interior of their diggers. After experiencing an unforeseen security vulnerability with their metal plates, JCB was looking to replace them with more efficient, tamper-resistant labelling.

In response, we developed a thermal transfer printable, metallised, gloss polyester label. An extremely durable label, resistant to abrasion, water and long-term weathering, incredibly difficult to remove and highly readable.
Another great use for durable labelling is the ability to integrate tracking into a label via QR or Barcodes. Durable labels also provide the opportunity to easily safeguard data attached to industrial components exposed to harsh environmental conditions, such as pipes or conduits.

Ultimately, protecting your brand is one of the most important factors to consider when working with durable labels.
Defective or damaged labels on your products can negatively affect the way your brand is perceived. Quality, durable, thermal transfer printed labels provide clear brand visibility, representation and protection in previously unreachable areas. So, if you?re still thinking about switching to durable labelling or improving your existing labels, what?s holding you back?
