Arriva Train Maintenance Facility Eastleigh Depot, Southampton, United Kingdom

Rubb has designed, constructed, and installed a train maintenance facility in Eastleigh Depot for Arriva. The 8m span by 30m length BVR structure will serve to service the Arriva fleet from its rail-side location. Easy access is provided by a 4m x 4m electronic roller shutter door to the front gable, in addition to two single access doors to the front side and gable. The hangar features Rubb’s durable steel framework, which is hot dip galvanized to protect from corrosion. The frame is fully covered with a high tenacity, flame retardant PVC-coated polyester fabric, which has a life expectancy of up to 25 years. The building is complete with Goosewing grey sidewalls and gables, with a white roof. Since its completion in December 2019, Arriva plans to install a mansafe anchor system inside the facility to further protect engineers.
