Checkpoint BVR Structure

Rubb worked with main contractor Keir Services to design, construct and install a BVR for the MoD. The 12m span, 32m length, 5m leg structure was installed at Gate 8, RAF Lakenheath. The structure will be used as a security inspection building before entrance to the American site for F-35s, due to increased traffic. Included in this structure is 150mm Thermohall® insulated cladding, which will make sure heat is contained for a comfortable working environment. The BVR is equipped with 2x 4.5m x 4.5m speed doors to the front and rear gable, as well as 2x standard fire access doors. The structure features Rubb’s durable steel framework, which is hot dip galvanized to protect from corrosion. The frame is fully covered with a high tenacity, flame retardant PVC-coated polyester fabric, which has a life expectancy of up to 25 years. Goosewing Grey cladding was requested for this structure.
