Job Vacancy – Fabricator, Fitter / Welder

Start Date: Immediate Position Type: Full time Location: Team Valley, Gateshead Industry: Engineering / Infrastructure The primary focus of this position will be setup, operation, mild steel MIG welding/fabrication work. This is a cross functional position within the fabrication department. Responsibilities: Set up and operate MIG welding set/metal work tools Perform assigned work to production and quality standards Make routine decisions and problem solving techniques to resolve any issues that may arise Report and document any material, production or quality issues Safely operate a fork lift to handle material and completed product Qualifications: Must have a strong knowledge/background of welding and fabrication including basic set ups Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired Keen attention to detail is required Needs to be competent at measuring, marking out, Jig assembly and Fabrication Competency in maths Good communication skills Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings/layouts Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints Ability to safely operate a fork truck Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation Commitment toward quality, safety and continual improvement Understanding and support of company policies and procedures Excellent attendance Ability to work frequent overtime Physical Requirements: Physically demanding position Lift, carry, push and/or pull frequently Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp/reach overhead and outward frequently Ability to work in a fast paced industrial environment while wearing vision and hearing protection, steel toed shoes, gloves and any other required protective equipment How to Apply: Please send CV and covering letter by direct mail or email to the below addresses: Rubb Buildings Ltd Dukesway Team Valley Trading Estate Gateshead Tyne & Wear NE11 0QE info@rubb.co.uk
