Port of Leith Warehouse Extension
21-02-2020
Rubb was approached by Technip to extend their storage tent situated in the Port of Leith due to an increase in infrastructure requirements.
Due to the modular nature of Rubb’s buildings, this was easily accomplished. The NV structure previously measured 12m span x 24m length. After Rubb Installed three additional 3m modules, the length was increased to 33m.
For such an improvement in storage potential, this was a simple operation. The gable end was removed, the modules were installed, then the gable end was replaced. This demonstrates the effortless adaptability of Rubb’s structures, as they can be easily dismantled, relocated, or, like in this case, expanded.
Rubb’s structures are also built to last. The storage tent features Rubb’s durable steel framework, which is hot dip galvanized to protect from corrosion. The frame is fully covered with a high tenacity, flame retardant PVC-coated polyester fabric, which has a life expectancy of up to 25 years.
More examples of Rubb’s port projects can be seen here.
