Rubb refurbishes latest in long line of projects for A&P Falmouth
Rubb has refurbished another onboard storage building for Royal Fleet Auxiliary bay-class vessel, RFA Mounts Bay.
The 15m span x 18m long NV building was dismantled in 2020 and will now be refitted to RFA Mounts Bay in A&P Falmouth’s Cornwall docks. During the time it’s spent with us in the Rubb yard, the structure has been refurbished to bring it up to 2021 standard – complete with a brand-new electrical pack.
This is far from the first project Rubb has done for A&P Falmouth, as we have completed over 10 during our 13-year mission to kit-out all the UK’s Bay-class vessels.
Bay-class ships are 176.6m long, and have a full load of 16,160 tonnes. This 15m span x 18m long steel-framed and fabric-covered structure is used to protect valuable equipment onboard the vessel.
The storage structure will help support the ship’s tours of the Mediterranean and Caribbean in its anti-piracy and relief efforts.
