Four Great Ways to Tackle Rust
16-08-2018
Here at Rustbuster, we are always looking for innovative solutions to tackle rust problems, looking at removal and repair, as well as prevention methods. Today we are going to cover four great ways to deal with any potential rust issues, including information about our seam sealers, surface blasters, and wax injectors.
Rust Removal and Repair
At Rustbuster we have a plethora of different products for you to use for rust removal and repair. Whilst all products can be purchased individually, we recommend buying one of our car restoration packs, offering your more value for money, thus helping you save a minimum of 10% compared to when you order items separately. We also offer a rust proofing service to elp you avoid these problems altogether, as well as plenty of advice when it comes to DIY car restoration. Read on to find out about some key products when it comes to busting rust.
Seam Sealers
Seam sealers work to prevent perforation corrosion. As chemical coating compositions, they work to cover joined edges of overlaps to create a kind of waterproof seal. At Rustbuster, we sell Sikaflex sealant, which can be used for both new joints and sealing any weld repairs. It acts as both a primer-less seam sealer and a bolted panel bonding agent, creating a permanent bond by applying it directly to metal or over a previously primed surface.
Surface Blaster
We offer a variety of surface blasters at Rustbuster. These work by a process where small angular or spherical particles are propelled by compressed air, using mechanical wheels that rotate at a high speed, or in some cases, water pumps. It provides an efficient and economical solution to rust removal. One of our recommended products is the pneumatic blaster, which helps with corrosion, mill scales, and coating removal, as well as spot repairs and weld seam preparation. We can prepare your kit depending on your application, and can even create bespoke kits that are perfectly suited to your requirements.
Wax Injector
Here at Rustbuster, we provide wax injectors for simple application of cavity wax, so there is no requirement for a compressor. The AT1002 Wax Injector comes complete with a 360˚ injection wand and a 150mm spray straw. We also provide spray tips for spraying lightweight cavity injection waxes. It is important to know that this spray gun is not suitable for heavy under body wax coatings, so you will need to apply the Rustbuster Mil-Spec transparent wax, diluted with white spirit at 30%. Alternatively, you can use Corrolan Ramsoil Rust Proofing Fluid Film. For any further advice, we are at hand to help.
