Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - COSHH

The introduction of EU Legislation regarding the labelling and classification of hazardous substances has meant that from the 1st June 2015, manufacturers and users of all hazardous products, which could be anything from furniture polish to a potent mixture of highly explosive chemicals, have to review and revise their Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and COSHH Assessments, although the product is the same as it was before the 1st June 2015, the classification of it has changed since this date, and although there has been a lead-in period to get this information revised and updated, many products still remain on our shelves with the old orange symbol classifications, rather than the new white pictograms classifications. This is not the only change that this Legislation has imposed, we also now have different safety and risk phrases leading to a complicated collation of both UK and EU Legislation.
