UK law classifies young persons as being those under the age of 18 and places specific requirements on employers to give additional consideration to those under 18, however employers should also being giving consideration to those aged between 18 and 24 as they too are often starting work for the first time after leaving full time education and/or have little experience of workplaces and the hazards present.
Young Workers do not necessarily become mature, experienced and competent workers once they pass the age of 18; able to identify hazards and risks that maybe a more experienced worker may identify.
