Self Adhesive Sponge Crown Strip - 15mm x 8mm

This sponge crown strip is 15mm wide by 8mm high and supplied by the linear metre. This closed cell sponge material does not absorb water so is suitable for making a watertight seal on hatches, lockers, enclosures, and cabinets. The ‘crown’ shape allows for easy compression to create a good and long lasting seal. This product comes with an adhesive scrim backing which can be easily applied to most clean flat surfaces such as plastic, wood and metal by peeling off the backing paper and sticking in place. The scrim backing is water resistant, but not recommended for environments which have constant immersion to water. We manufacture this product from high quality expanded EPDM which is a compressible material suitable for a wide range of applications. When compressed to approximately 30%, this section will create a good long-term watertight seal without risk of compression set. This material has a good modular resistance to most substances including most chemicals, UV, air and ozone but is not recommended in environments which may come into contact with oil or fuel. EPDM has an operating temperature range between -40°C to +120°C.
