Servaclean recently completed the design, manufacture, and installation of two cocktail bars for an outdoor shipping container complex in Newcastle city centre: Frate. This premiere bar venue comes from the founders of another popular city venue, Market Shaker, with the location behind Grey Street just off High Bridge.
Andy Royston, Managing Director, said “Servaclean is proud to help make Frate a reality. It is a huge boost to Newcastle city centre and an exciting venue for residents. Our two cocktail stations are state-of-the-art, providing the bars with ease of use and better customer service and satisfaction.”
The site had remained derelict for several years until co-owners Rob Clarkson and Tom Byron decided to transform the area into an exciting destination spot. They had already set up a service on a patch of land behind their other venue Market Shaker, which had been a great success during lockdown.
Utilising recycled freight containers, they were repurposed over two storeys, turning the once disused site into a mass complex of entertainment for Newcastle residents and beyond.
Frate features two cocktail bars serving household classics and more wacky frozen drinks. Servaclean installed it’s full bar systems, including cocktail stations and a separate glasswash station within the bar counter layout.
Utilising Servaclean’s free bar design and planning service, our high quality 304 grade stainless-steel cocktail bars were individually planned for the specific needs of the venue. These stations are the perfect solution for maximum efficiency and increased profitability.
The venue is also home to Street Food Kitchen, which serves Middle Eastern kebabs, mezze salad bowls and 16-inch pizza. The location hosts live music, outdoor cinema nights and vintage clothes markets.
Co-owner Rob Clarkson said: “Frate is bringing together the best of our local and independent food, drink, art and music within the city. Hidden in plain sight, Frate sits across a courtyard with upcycled bespoke shipping containers, nestled behind one of Newcastle’s busiest streets.
We are super excited to be bringing our new concept to life and think those of the North East will agree that Frate is an excellent addition to our region.”
