Prayer Garden completed in South London

English Martyrs RC Primary School in Walworth, South London, invited Setter Play to design and quote for their Prayer Garden project, which would transform a previously overgrown and little-used area in the corner of their grounds.

The area was to be used for outdoor lessons, quiet thoughtful time, and as a prayer garden, so the brief included lots of seating, with a compact shelter off to one side for quiet group work in all weathers.

The school worked with us to customise their design, including using their school colours for the shelters and entrance pergolas.

The design features little cubby holes around the perimeter for quiet group work, as well as a bespoke plinth for a statue that the school ordered. We co-ordinated with the school to ensure the solution we proposed would work.

The muted colours of the timber and bonded rubber mulch created a really lovely and inviting feel to the space. We’re very proud of this project, which shows the kind of complementary and considered design that Setter Play can deliver.
