Slope Stability Assessment
Sevenoaks Environmental Consultancy were instructed to conduct a Geotechnical Site Investigation for a site in North Kent which was partly formed by a steep slope to the rear of the site. Development proposals included a significant cut into the slope to afford room to build high rise blocks of flats. The site was also located on Chalk geology with some overlying drift deposits and therefore consideration of potential for solution features was also required. A specialist articulated hill climbing rotary drill rig was used to advance boreholes on the steep slope in order to collect data to help derive parameters for the slope stability assessment.
Based on the information gathered SEC provided the Client with a comprehensive interpretative geotechnical site investigation report which the Client's Structural Engineers could use in order to design the tall retaining structure and foundation design for the proposed buildings
