SGS BECOMES ONE OF THE FIRST CTIA AUTHORISED TEST LABS FOR IOT CYBERSECURITY CERTIFICATION TESTING
07-09-2018
SGS is pleased to announce that it has been approved as a test lab for the newly announced CTIA IoT Cybersecurity Certification Program.
As a CTIA Authorised Test Laboratory, SGS will test cellular-connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices to determine whether they meet the requirements and standards of the Cybersecurity Certification test plan.
SGS worked closely with CTIA and the wireless industry, through CTIA's Cybersecurity Working Group, on the development of the testing program and is proud to be one of the first approved testing labs.
"As an independent third party, we are proud to help raise the bar on cybersecurity by ensuring IoT devices adhere to the CTIA test plan," said Parthiv Parikh.
The CTIA IoT Certification Program sets an industry baseline for IoT security, while providing flexibility for additional operator-specific requirements. IoT device manufacturers may seek the type of certification that best fits the complexity and sophistication of the device and the security characteristics desired or needed for its use.
