SGS United Kingdom Acquisition of Roplex Enginerring

Early this year SGS announced the acquisition of Roplex Engineering Limited, based in Southampton. The new business will trade as SGS Roplex Limited and has been integrated into the Oil, Gas and Chemicals Services business of SGS. The 10 acquired staff will continue at their existing office, using their existing telephone numbers and email addresses. Founded in 1990 by John Robson, Roplex specialises in engineering support and test services for vapour recovery systems. “I am delighted to announce that Roplex Engineering has been acquired by SGS,” said John. “Bringing together the unique skills and experience of our employees with the huge resources and customer base of SGS is a winning combination that will benefit all of our customers.” Roplex operates in refineries and oil distribution terminals across the UK, supporting vapour recovery systems that are designed to reduce the vapour emissions from fuels. “I am very pleased with the acquisition of Roplex, as their services complement ours very neatly,” said Malcolm Cooper, SGS Oil, Gas and Chemicals Services Business Manager. “John and his team bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of vapour recovery systems and I am delighted to get them on board.
