We’ve Won a Gold Award!

The world of signage is constantly evolving. New products and materials are designed and released, clients are coming up with more unique requests, and the world throws a lot of new challenges at us. So, when a company is looking for ways to stand out from the crowd with signage, they look for a partner they can trust. And there’s a lot of choice out there when it comes to suppliers. But at Signwrite Studios, we’re happy to now say that we’re on an award-winning list of signage suppliers for the UK!  

Yes, last Monday night we won the GOLD award in the Architectural Film Project award category at the 2024 Sign & Wrap Awards. So today we’re taking the chance to brag a little and tell you a bit more about what this award means, and why we won it. 

What’s the Award? 

The Sign & Wrap Awards are an annual award for all companies in the UK & Ireland in the signage and wrapping industry. It’s the biggest event in the calendar year and it’s designed to celebrate the very best of the industry. We have usually steered away from submitting entries, more out of the unknown, but last year we decided to take the plunge and put one of our projects forward. We were shortlisted for the Architectural Film Project award category – and we won! 

We submitted a project that we did for a school in Wokingham using architectural films. We worked closely with the fit-out company Oaktree Interiors  to support their school project with various signage and vinyl wrapping. A unique and focal point of their interior was a bespoke curved MDF constructed desk, which they challenged us to showcase the benefits of architectural film wraps using 3M DI-NOC Architectural Film.

This desk had to be able to withstand the daily wear of a busy and bustling school environment and look good while doing it. It’s a challenge we were well up to taking on! And the results, we think, speak for themselves. 

Why Did We Win? 

We were absolutely delighted to not only be nominated for the award, but to actually win it. When we looked at the feedback from the judges on our project and why they chose us for the gold award, they said: 

‘Our judges liked the example of the process, and we believe that process is key to any award. It shows the details involved and the complexity of shape really pushed the winner over the line.’ 

In other words, they loved our attention to detail and the thoroughness of our process. We are dedicated to quality, and make sure every project is done correctly. We chose this project mainly because of the unique shape of the desk. It presented our vinyl installers with a unique challenge. We had to make sure that every grain of wood effect lined up with the next along the curve of the base, and that the top looked smooth and seamless. Which is harder than it looks!

What Does This Mean for Signwrite Studios? 

Obviously, winning this award is a huge honour and everyone in our office joined in a celebration when it was announced. Lisa from the Signwrite Studios team says:

It’s a big stamp of approval that showcases our skills to our customers.

Commercial premises in particular can see a huge benefit using this type of film. They’re the perfect way to refresh existing fixtures and fittings with little disruption and lasting results.’ 

Of course, in the day-to-day running of things, not a lot will change. We’ll still be helping business owners across the country stand out from the crowd with eye-catching professional signage and brand visuals. But we will also be building our work with architectural films even further. In fact, our next steps are to start wrapping more areas like: 

• IPS panelling 
• Internal door wraps 
• Desk wraps
• Kitchen wraps
