Round table identifies industry shortcomings on adapting to the new product regulation regime, post-Building Safety Act

The construction industry is grappling with a more robust product regulation and information regime in order to ensure safe building projects in future, although according to experts a lack of knowledge and engagement is hampering progress.

This was one of the findings of a high-level construction round table held recently in London which sought to share knowledge on the current and incoming changes for product certification and regulation in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy and the Building Safety Act. The Building Insights LIVE event was a key opportunity to gain expert insights in order to update architects and contractors on the benefits and challenges of the new regime, with product regulation having been called into question in the Grenfell inquiry.
