In our quest for continuous improvement, we have now made our specification support even more technically driven by appointing dedicated experts for writing specifications. In addition to producing specifications, our Technical Specifications team has updated SOPREMA’s master templates and is immediately available to answer any questions you may have. JOINING FORCES WITH NBS While our specification support was already a suitable offering, we decided to optimise it by joining forces with NBS, using NBS Chorus to create brand-new, uniform master templates. As our customer, you now enjoy the reassurance that the information we work with is constantly updated and always reflective of the specific requirements that apply. Especially with the updates in fire safety and BROOF(t4) over the last years and the delicacy of the topic of fire compliance, you want to be 100% sure that the roofing applications we propose are correct and in line with building regulations. Furthermore, as we can communicate directly with architects through the platform, we have also improved the integration between the various parties that use NBS Chorus. NEW BUILDS AND REFURBISHMENTS SOPREMA offers bespoke detailed specifications for both new build and refurbishment projects. After assessing your plans or the situation on site, we give advice on the best scenario and produce specifications accordingly. 1. NEW BUILDS When writing specifications for new builds, our Technical Sales representatives handle the initial contact. Your plans are submitted through our Technical Sales team, who in turn provide the full details of the requirements to our Technical Specification Support team. Our experts then produce the necessary specification and may propose additional requirements for you to comply with building regulations. In other words, you can have complete confidence in the specifications and systems we put forward. 2. REFURBISHMENTS Writing specifications for refurbishment projects starts with our sales representatives visiting the site together with the main contractor or roofing contractor. Using our inspection tool, we produce an initial survey report that contains a draft refurbishment specification. The report is then checked, and any necessary adjustments are made. The result is returned in the form of a survey and specification which is bespoke on every roof and ensures the best value proposals every time. We consider all the details of the environment. The use of the existing building, and the site limitations that may derive from it, are carefully factored in. A flame-free or an LPG-free site, for instance, means that the specified systems will have to be cold-applied and in line with the Safe2Torch guidelines, while other specifications contain inbuilt flexibility to help complete your project on a tight deadline. SOPREMA’S ROOFING SPECIFICATION Our specification service results in a professionally presented, easy-to-read document that encompasses all aspects and is transparent, enabling you to make an informed decision. More specifically, you will receive an NBS specification relevant to the waterproofing system you require – J41 for bituminous, J31 for liquid (both structural waterproofing and cold-applied liquids) and J42 for single-ply. The resulting document also includes: warranties details on inspection requirements details on relevant BBA certifications in relation to the system information on the application requirements of individual products listed links to datasheets (to see the technical characteristics of the products we propose) You can use our roofing specification to compare offerings, or you can incorporate it in the overall NBS specification for the building you are working on.
