World Famous Portmeirion Pottery – a new internal retractable tunnel The Portmeirion Pottery works is famous across the globe for its classical designs and outstanding quality. The British company was founded in the 1960’s and is now a group that owns a range of homeware brands that have 250 years of history. Stuart Canvas has recently completed a retractable tunnel The Group’s state of the art manufacturing facility. The tunnel creates a cover over specialist equipment whilst the poetry is in production. This protects the pottery from dust and different levels of temperature whist in a vulnerable stage of production. Due to the specialist level of the manufacturing equipment, the tunnel was placed on fixed roller wheels to allow for easy manoeuvrability. Stuart Canvas manufactured the tunnel using the kedar system. This system consists of individual PVC panels, 1.1m wide which are produced to the exact width of each pentagraph centre of the tunnel frame. Each panel is sewn with the keder on both sides and high frequency welded to create a waterproof structure. Whether large or small, fixed or retractable, Stuart Canvas can offer a temporary building solution for your needs and advise on how to create the best additional workspace both internally or externally. Our Tunnels can be produced as mobile or static spaces and can be designed to be easily dismantled and assembled should they need to be relocated in the future.
