The foodie delights included Gloucester Old Spot sausages and burgers from local producer Helen and John Lightfoot's Pebblesford Herd which is reared in Hartpury. The sausages and burgers were cooked using plug in, portable induction hobs provided by Target Catering Equipment from Gloucester.
The famous Double Gloucester and Single Gloucester cheeses, produced by Smart's Farm, Gloucestershire since 1987, was sold by Mrs Smart and accompanied by real bread baked by David Pedrette in local catering equipment manufacturer Target Catering Equipment's Traditional Italian dome oven.
A fantastic selection of Hartpury produced cider and perry produced by Peter Mitchell at the Orchard Centre, which is also home of Hartpury's wildlife and wetland centre set below the historic orchard full of the National collection of perry pear trees, was available for all to try and buy.
The next open day is scheduled for the 17th September when even more local producers will be attending. There is also an invitation for all local food and drink producers who wish to promote their wares to come along.
