And the GOLD MEDAL goes to ... Stannah
11-06-2015
The Stannah Lift Group has been awarded a seventh consecutive Gold in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2015. Seven gold awards in a row means this year the British family-owned nationwide lift company, which will celebrate 150 years of trading in 2017, receives a Gold Medal.
Group Director, Jon Stannah, is delighted with the news, commenting:
‘This Gold Medal is for everyone within our 1500 strong organisation who consistently exceed the required health and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of all our customers, our suppliers and our own colleagues at Stannah. We are very proud to receive the award on behalf of all our employees but must give special mention to our health and safety team who work tirelessly to maintain our standards.’
The Gold Medal award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents will be presented to Jon Stannah during a ceremony at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London on June 16, 2015, during Health & Safety Week.
David Rawlins, RoSPA's Awards Manager, said:
‘The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Stannah Lifts Group of Companies, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.’
As the UK's family safety charity, RoSPA's mission to save lives and reduce injuries covers all ages and stages of life. In support of this mission, the RoSPA Awards, which date back 59 years, recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Stannah are looking forward to collecting their award at ExCeL where they are exhibiting at the Facilities Show during Health & Safety Week. Meet them on Stand Q1400 or pop along to a Stannah training session - “Lifts: your questioned answered” - and join more than 100 facilities professionals who have already booked their place.
