Bags of Christmas cheer from AgeUK Mid Hampshire and friends
“A big ‘cheers’ to everyone who made the annual Christmas goodie bags for our elderly residents possible yet again” said AgeUK Mid Hampshire Chief Executive Officer, Mike Simpson.
“Every year our friends at Stannah, the Andover Rotary Club and Andover Charities Trustees donate towards the cost of a fabulous collection of festive food treats for our more elderly, and sometimes lonely, members of our communities. This year, through our supporters’ generosity, the Stannah band of volunteers have delivered seventy parcels, some right out in the furthest corners of our district. The bags are packed by volunteers at Waitrose in Andover, so we can truly say this Christmas initiative is a marvellous example of community spirit.”
The Worshipful the Mayor of Andover Councillor Karen Hamilton added her congratulations to all concerned saying: ‘Thank you to every one of the organisations who collaborated to make these gifts possible. What a lovely way to say we care. Merry Christmas to you all’.
