Improving care in Chippenham
31-12-2010
A Stannah Midilift SL vertical platform lift is helping to make life easier and more comfortable for the staff and residents of Laurieston House, a private residential care home in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
This detached, converted family home cares for up to nine senior citizens, three of whom may have a dementia. With accommodation ranged over two floors, the hydraulic Midilift SL maximises free movement between the facilities which include double and single bedrooms, bathrooms, sitting room and dining room.
To accommodate the Midilift SL, an impressive two-storey porch was built to bring full access to both floors. Supplied in a structure-supported enclosure, this conventional platform lift does not require a lifting beam, making installation less intrusive with the lift slotting into a nominal 70mm pit. Easy-to-use, constant pressure buttons make the lift simple to operate by the more able residents and by members of staff who accompany the more compromised individuals.
Owner and registered manager, Jenny Jobbins, is delighted with the Midilift SL: “I would recommend Stannah without hesitation. The installers, engineers and salesmen were all absolutely superb. The Midilift SL went in without any fuss and did not interfere with the homes smooth-running, or inconvenience our residents at all. Thank you, Stannah, for helping us raise the level of care in Laurieston House.”
The Midilift SL is a highly cost-effective solution for improving access in new or existing buildings. Available with a choice of finishes and three platform sizes, the lift offers stylish passenger-lift performance in situations where it would be impossible, impractical or unnecessary to install a conventional passenger lift. It also helps premises owners meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
