Stannah makes the grade at top University

Just in time for the start of a new academic year, the University of Bristol has awarded the Bristol branch of Stannah Lift Services the heavyweight contract to service its entire portfolio of lifts. That’s 140 lifts of all types and ages from a wide range of lift manufacturers, including Stannah itself. These lifts must be kept at peak performance in order to ferry high volumes of people of all mobility levels, goods and educational support equipment around a variety of buildings over a scattered campus. There are 17 lifts alone in the University’s landmark tower, the Wills Memorial Building. Built as a tribute to the University’s first Chancellor, Henry Overton Wills III, this 1920s’ Neo Gothic construction houses the Faculties of Law and Earth Sciences and their libraries. As from August 2010, a Bristol Stannah Lift Service’s engineer has been on-site full-time delivering instant response to help maintain all these lifts.
