A Stannah Goodsmaster 500B goods lift is playing a vital role in the rebirth of the Isla Gladstone Conservatory, an idyllic Grade II Listed Victorian glass house located in the grounds of Liverpool’s Stanley Park. As part of Liverpool’s urban regeneration programme, this fine example of glass architecture is the centre piece of a £25-million project to restore all the dilapidated buildings. Originally constructed in 1870 as a showcase for exotic flora, the Isla Gladstone Conservatory has been a multi-functional venue for events and celebrations since its re-opening in August 2009. The Goodsmaster contributes to its 21st-century performance, distributing a whole range of deliveries between the two storeys. Available in 500kg to 1500kg capacities, the lift operates inside a rapidly erected, structure-supported frame, making installation swift and simple with the minimum of builders’ work. It can be installed almost anywhere in a building and does not rely on an outside structural wall for support. It also allows for flexible positioning as it is does not require significant headroom or pit depth. With the motor/drive unit fitted to the side of the lift, the lift does not require a dedicated motor room which makes a considerable saving on space. Up and running within a fortnight, the Stannah Goodsmaster brings safe, reliable and economical movement of goods for industrial or commercial duty.
