PIB Machines

The Polyisobutylene or PIB Machine is used to apply primary PIB to the edge of spacer bar. The spacer bar is then applied to glass to create an initial edge seal, or primary seal to the construction of the double glazed sealed unit. PIB is a black adhesive substance which bonds to glass and spacer bar to maintain the shape of the sealed unit while it is being constructed. This edge seal then goes onto continue to help protect and extend the lifetime of the sealed unit. PIB is the primary component of a dual seal unit. There are two PIB Machines in the Thermoseal Group range including the 1Kg and the 7Kg models.
